GOIN' HOME

 

Most recognized by the melody heard in Dvořák's 9th Symphony, the simple melody and harmony emphasizes the text's simplicity in desiring 'home' where mother and father are.  This was the first piece that was part of the 2012-2013 residency with The Master Singers.  It was piece that resonated with everyone in the ensemble.  We can all think of times, places, and events that have made us want to be home, whatever that may be for us.  That's what "Goin' Home" represents - the feeling of home.
