BLOW, BLOW THOU WINTER WIND

Winter is often seen as a beautiful and harsh season with its cold temperatures and dangerous weather.  Its forceful winds and blizzard conditions make living through those months excruciatingly long.  The other side of winter is seen as a harshness season in a relationship between two people.  The drifting feelings and space that occur are as forceful and abrasive as the winds of the winter.   The fanfare opening and constant rhythmic energy drive the piece forward like winds in a blizzard.   The use of open and parallel fifths shows the strength and vast landscape created by nature’s conditions.
