ABENDLIED

Written in the winter of 2011, "Abendlied" explores the disparity and melancholy we all encounter at some point in our lives.  For me, it was the passing of my grandfather that brought me through this series of emotions.  I couldn't find any way to truly communicate how I felt except through music.  I had always been drawn to this text, primarily due to Josef Rheinberger's setting.  I thought that this text served the purpose I needed it to.
